For more than twenty years Russ Schriefer has been a successful political strategist and media consultant. Managing and consulting on Republican campaigns at every level, he has helped elect governors, US Senators and dozens of members of Congress. In addition, Russ has worked at the national level for four Presidential campaigns. A founding partner in The Stevens & Schriefer Group, he has written, directed and edited hundreds of commercials for both political and corporate clients.
In the 2004 and 2000 presidential election, Russ was a member of the Maverick media team that produced all advertising for President George W. Bush. As Program Director for the 2004 Republican National Convention, Russ helped reinvent the modern national political convention. Tom Shales of the Washington Post called the 2004 Republican convention "cool" and "hip" and The NY Observer called it, "The most meticulously produced campaign convention ever televised and perhaps the most successful."
During the 2000 Republican National Convention, New York Magazine wrote that Russ "became one of George W. Bush's main image-makers, and one of the very few non-Austinites who crafted Bush's seamless we are the world nomination pageant."
Along with his political work, Russ advises numerous corporate and association clients on strategy, message, tactics and communications. He has consulted and lectured on politics and media in the United States, Russia, Africa and Cambodia.
